How to Remove Yellow Stains From Fingers From Smoking

Most people know the health consequences of smoking, but cigarettes do more than cause damage to your lungs and heart. The nicotine in cigarette smoke can leave nasty-looking stains on your fingers. Whether you've kicked the habit for good and want to get rid of the stains, or you're just looking for a quick fix while you muster up the confidence to give up cigarettes, some home remedies can help you remove the yellow tint from your skin.

    Step 1

Soak your fingers in a bowl of lemon juice for five minutes. Take them out and scrub the skin gently with a pumice stone. Repeat the process of soaking and scrubbing until all of the yellow stains are gone. Avoid scrubbing too hard with the pumice stone, as this can irritate and damage the skin.

    Step 2

Moisten a cotton ball with nail polish remover and rub it over the yellow stains until they are no longer visible. Use a clean cotton ball and more nail polish remover as needed.

    Step 3

Mix ½ cup baking soda and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide in a bowl. Stir well with a spoon to create a slush-like mixture. Soak your fingers for 10 minutes in the peroxide and baking soda mixture. Do this daily until the stains are gone, and daily thereafter if stains return.
