Enfamil Prosobee is a soy-based infant formula that has no cow's milk or lactose. According to MedicineNet, babies who are gassy because their bodies cannot digest cow's milk proteins usually benefit from switching to a soy-based formula like Enfamil Prosobee. Prosobee can help to decrease gas in some babies, although it is not the right formula for all babies.
Enfamil Gentlease
Gentlease is a formula created by Enfamil that is designed to address the needs of fussy and gassy babies. It is milk-based, though according to the Enfamil company, Gentlease is clinically proven to reduce gassiness in some babies. The company states that this is because Gentlease only has a fifth of the lactose found in most cow's milk based formulas. Dr. Bill Sears, Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California Irvine, states that high lactose levels causes gas in some babies.
Enfamil Nutramigen with Enflora LGG
Nutramigen with Enflora LGG is a new infant formula by the Enfamil brand that is lactose free and has no sucrose; a sugar that babies sometimes have difficulty digesting. It has hydrolyzed proteins, which are easy to digest. It is also hypoallergenic and has an added probiotic to help improve digestion and decrease gas in the intestines. MedicineNet states that Nutramigen is a good formula for babies who are unable to tolerate cow's milk protein and soy milk protein.
Similac Sensitive
Similac Sensitive is a special infant formula for babies with sensitive tummies and problems like colic, bloating, gas and constipation. This formula is comparable to Enfamil brand Gentlease. It is milk based but designed with a special type of carbohydrate which can reduce gas in babies.
Similac Isomil Advance
A soy-based formula with no milk protein, Similac Isomil Advance is a good choice for any babies with allergies or sensitive to cow's milk. It is comparable to Enfamil ProSobee. According to the Similac company, Similac Isomil Advance is a good choice to decrease fussiness, spit up and gas in some babies who are lactose intolerant, according to Medicine Net.
