    A Victoria's Secret Model's Diet

Good genes certainly help if you aspire to become a Victoria's Secret model, but even the head-turning beauties of the famous lingerie line abide by the two most essential factors for maintaining a runway body: nutritious food and exercise. Some of the models get away with eating certain not-so nutritious foods thanks to a high metabolism but, in general, these ladies keep their figures by working out and eating healthy.

    Adriana Lima

Brazilian model Adriana Lima sticks to the portion control diet, which allows you to eat all the foods you typically eat but merely restricts the amount. Lima eats lots of fresh fruits and vegetables but watches how much seeds and grains she consumes. Her favorite cuisine is Brazilian, according to BecomeGorgeous.com, which is known for being heavy on meat. Lean cuts of meat, however, in portion-controlled sizes are healthy and essential to a nutritious diet. Lima complements her diet with plenty of aerobics in the form of the Brazilian dance style Capoeira, which infuses intense martial-art techniques.

    Heidi Klum

The German-born Heidi Klum is one of Victoria's Secret's most recognized faces, and at the age of 37 has remained one of the company's top models. Klum began the New York Body Plan diet after becoming a mother. The diet aims to produce significant results within just two weeks by completely restricting bread, dairy, sweets and alcohol. No more than 1,200 calories should be consumed daily on the New York Body Plan diet. Klum reports that she eats a small meal every three hours to keep her metabolism engaged. Food after 8 p.m. is out of the question and fruit is just about the only snack she'll allow herself, with apples being her favorite.

    Gisele Bundchen

Another Brazilian model, Gisele Bundchen, is one of Victoria's Secret's most successful "Angels." Much like Lima, she too is a meat eater and a fan of cheeseburgers. Bundchen complements her high-protein diet with yoga and walks, which help her relax. She notes that she'll spice up many of her meals with cayenne pepper, which helps trigger metabolic processes to burn fat cells.

    Miranda Kerr

Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr keeps her body toned by eating lots of healthy carbohydrates and lean protein, including oatmeal, vegetables, low-fat yogurt, fruit and egg whites. Lunch usually consists of salads with chicken or fish, while dinner includes more of the same, as well as turkey and vegetables. Kerr reveals that some of her breakfast combinations include wheat-free toast topped with avocado and blueberry yogurt. She also admits to having a weakness for chocolate. A mix of yoga, low-impact cardio and resistance exercises make up her 75-minute workouts that she does three to four times per week.

    Marisa Miller

Marissa Miller's secret to slimming down in a hurry before a Victoria's Secret photo shoot is to eat only fresh, healthy foods, and to drink plenty of water 48 hours beforehand. For day-to-day dieting, she eliminates soda, carbohydrates and alcohol. The California native focuses on resistance training to retain muscle tone and curves. She travels with resistance bands on all of her trips because they are easy to pack and can be used practically anywhere. Miller also likes to stay active outdoors and makes paddle-boarding a regular part of her workout.
