Which Are the Best Multifocal Contact Lenses?

Multifocal contacts are lenses that can help you see both near and far objects. There are two prescriptions built into the single lens and are intended for patients with presbyopia. Presbyopia occurs when individuals over the age of 40 have difficulty seeing objects close up. If you do need multifocal contact lenses, you will want to find the best types.

    PureVision

PureVision is a brand of multifocal contact lenses from Bauch & Lomb. Besides being produced by a well known manufacturer of vision products, PureVision is the only pair of multifocal contacts available for continuous use for 30 days.

    Soflens

Soflens Multifocal contact lenses are also made by Bauch & Lomb. This type can be worn throughout the day and has a built in halo effect reducer to stop glare while driving. Replace every two weeks, or as instructed by your eye doctor.

    Frequency 55

Frequency 55 Multifocal uses Balanced Progressive Technology to provide clear and crisp images to lens wearers. Two lenses are built in to the contacts and will permit you to see near, far and anywhere in between.

    ProClear

If you have a tendency to feel discomfort when wearing contacts or suffer from dry eyes, then ProClear Multifocal may be one of the best types of contacts for you. The design helps prevent a build up of mineral deposits on the lenses as well as the ability to better retain moisture.

    Acuvue Bifocal

Acuvue Bifocal was developed for sufferers of presbyopia to allow them to see near and far in various lighting conditions. The lens is separated into five different zones that allow you to see at various distances. You can wear the contacts non-stop for six days or change them after two weeks if you take them out at night. Acuvue Bifocal is also a good choice due to the lenses' built in UV protection.
