How to Cook Bacon on a Traeger With Foil
Bacon comes from the belly of the pig, and this smoked protein has numerous uses for meals. Commonly, many people fry, broil or bake this meat. However, you may want to try something different and cook bacon on a grill such as a Traeger, which uses pellets as a fuel source. Traeger grills come in a variety of styles, but you can cook bacon on each type of Traeger grill. Knowing how to use your grill for cooking bacon will help with easy cleanup.

Light your Traeger grill following the manufacturer instructions. Once lit, close the lid and allow the grill to preheat for at least 10 minutes.
Step 2
Prepare your aluminum foil by tearing off a piece large enough to hold the amount of bacon you plan to cook.
Step 3
Place the foil on your Traeger after the grill preheats. The foil should sit on the grill for a few minutes to allow the foil to get hot.
Step 4
Lay out the bacon on the foil, and then close the lid.
Step 5
Check on the bacon every few minutes, and once you see the bacon starting to brown, flip the bacon over. If you cook thin-cut bacon, you will need to flip the bacon sooner than if you cook thick-cut bacon.
Step 6
Remove the bacon from the foil with tongs once the meat reaches the crispness you desire, and place the bacon on a plate.

Tip
If you want to keep the bacon drippings for other purposes, lift the edges of the foil to form a small lip on all sides.
You can place a paper towel or napkins on your plate before you transfer the bacon to the plate. This will help soak up any extra fat drippings.
Warning
Cook bacon and all other cuts of pork thoroughly. This will help destroy any foodborne pathogens in the meat.
