How to Cook Bratwurst in a Skillet
Bratwurst is a type of pork sausage that originates from Germany. Different geographical areas of the country have their own way of cooking and seasoning it. Step 1
Prick all sides of the bratwurst with a fork.
Step 2
Pour three 12-ounce bottles of dark beer into a large saucepan. You can use water if you aren't fond of beer. Bring the liquid to a boil over high heat. Place the bratwurst in the boiling liquid and cook for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Transfer the bratwurst from the liquid to the skillet.
Step 4
Cook the bratwurst for 20 minutes. Turn the bratwurst frequently to evenly brown all sides. Remove from pan when done.
